Vallnord, nestled in the northwestern parishes of La Massana and Ordino, represents a collection of ski areas that have become a cornerstone of Andorra's winter sports scene. Originally a commercial merger of the Pal-Arinsal and Ordino-Arcalís sectors, the area is now integrated under the broader Grandvalira Resorts umbrella, having been fully incorporated since 2023 . The resort is particularly renowned for its family-friendly atmosphere and reliable snow conditions, thanks to Ordino-Arcalís's north-facing orientation which ensures excellent snow retention throughout the season . With a season typically running from late November to early April, it offers a more tranquil alternative to some of the busier European mega-resorts while still providing a high-quality alpine experience.

The resort is divided into two main sectors, each offering a distinct character and terrain. Pal-Arinsal is the larger of the two, featuring 63 kilometers of pistes that span elevations from 1,550 meters to 2,560 meters, creating a substantial vertical drop of over 1,000 meters . This sector is connected by a cable car and caters to a wide range of abilities, with 40% of its terrain designated for intermediates and another 36% for advanced skiers . In contrast, Ordino-Arcalís is more compact and snow-sure, offering 30 kilometers of skiable terrain with a notable 32% dedicated to beginners. It is famous for its long, scenic 8-kilometer green run, the Mega Verde, and its challenging freeride zones which have even hosted events on the Freeride World Tour .

Beyond winter sports, Vallnord transforms into a world-class destination for mountain biking in the summer. The Pal-Arinsal sector reopens as the Vallnord Bike Park, which is considered one of the top four bike parks in the world . It features over 40 kilometers of downhill and enduro trails, served by three lifts including the gondola from the village of La Massana . The bike park caters to all levels, from a dedicated kids' park and pump tracks to technical downhill circuits with roots, jumps, and wooden structures . With a season running from mid-May to mid-October, it allows the area to remain a vibrant hub for outdoor adventure for approximately ten months of the year, far beyond the traditional ski season
