Even the great Roman emperors Augustus and Tiberius enjoyed an unforgettable sunset on Capri island!

This beautiful island is located in the Gulf of Naples. It’s not a big island. It’s only 6 kilometres long and 2,5 kilometres wide. But it is one of the most famous islands in the Mediterranean Sea due to its surroundings and its main attraction Blue Grotto. This is a limestone island with a lot of unusual shapes of sharp rock cliffs. There are many caves on the coastline. The most famous cave on Capri island is the cave called Blue Grotto. It is 54 metres long, 15 metres wide and 15 metres high. Blue Grotto or Grotta Azzurra owes its name to the mysterious blue light made of the sunlight in the late afternoon.

Besides Blue Grotto, the places you should visit are the towns of Capri and Anacapri, the hills of Monte Solaro, the cliffs called Arco Naturale, several villas on the island, the three famous cliffs called Faraglioni and beautiful Punta Carena Lighthouse. You should also visit island’s main port Marina Grande. The true decoration of the island are the villas: villa San Michele, villa Lovis, the residence of the emperor Tiberius, villa Malaparte and villa Lysis. Take a romantic walk and visit these beautiful villas…

There are a lot of things you can do when you are on such an island… You can sit on a terrace of your hotel and enjoy the view, you can sunbath on the sandy beaches or swim in the Tyrrhenian Sea. But you can also be more adventurous and take a longer walk and explore this beautiful island. There are forests and cliffs which invite you to meet them… Maybe you can take someone you love for a walk and give her a beautiful flower which you suddenly find on some hill… There are many romantic things you can do when you find yourself on a romantic place. Let your heart leads you… And of course, do not miss the unforgettable sunset… Watch the sun as it slowly disappears behind the beautiful blue sea… Enjoy the colours and the world it leaves behind itself…

Take a romantic walk on the island, climb its hills, admire its villas, enjoy the panoramic view of the island from the top of hills or from the top of the famous Lighthouse. It’s been a favourite summer resort even since the Roman Empire. A lovely countryside, sandy beaches, rocky cliffs, beautiful caves and the blue, blue sea…. It’s Capri!
