In order to position the state as a romantic holiday destination among Indian travellers aged 25 and above, Tourism Victoria has launched a social media campaign, ‘Melbourne Moments’, that aims to showcase the beauty of the state through images, stated a release. The campaign, which will run till July 20, 2013, includes a competition where Facebook users in India can browse images clicked by celebrity fashion photographer, Atul Kasbekar, and vote for their favourite photograph.

Kasbekar has captured Victoria’s most iconic attractions including snapshots of the Great Ocean Road, Mornington Peninsula, Phillip Island and Yarra Valley, along with shots of the inner city. Users can suggest a caption for their favourite image. The photograph with the maximum votes will be announced as the winner, and the author of the caption will win a holiday to Melbourne, which will include free airfare and three nights’ accommodation. Ten other innovative and witty captions will win framed photographs of Melbourne, autographed by Kasbekar.
India is one of the fastest-growing Inbound Tourism markets for Victoria. The state received 71,600 Indians in 2012, an increase of 16.4 per cent over the previous year.
