Captain Cook Hotel

Owned by the Government of Kiribati, the Captain Cook Hotel has played host to countless travelers and fishermen visiting Christmas Island. Apart from its ideal location on the beach and away from the hustle and bustle of town, the hotel boasts an extensive array of facilities, including a private bathing lagoon located a few minutes' drive from the property. The bathing lagoon is very popular with guests of the hotel and also caters for parties and special functions.

The Captain Cook Hotel was named after the famous explorer who discovered Christmas Island in 1777, and formerly served as the Base Camp for the British Army. It was the first hotel established on the island and the largest, with 20 Standard rooms in the main wing and 20 thatched Duplex Bungalows. All rooms and bungalows are air conditioned and have double or twin bed configurations, a fridge, coffee and tea making facilities and private bathrooms.
