Tanzania Set New Rule for Zambian travellers

Tanzanian Authorities have announced new measures for Zambians intending to travel to Tanzania, a senior Zambian official said Wednesday.

Ministry of Home Affairs Permanent Secretary Elwyn Chomba said the measures followed discussions held by authorities of both countries.

She said in a statement that the new measures include lifting the business pass requirement for Zambian truck drivers entering Tanzania, who will only be required to obtain a visitors’ pass. Meanwhile, Zambian traders will still be required to obtain a business pass and be entitled to 90 days per year, which will however not be issued at once.

Others include limiting Zambians intending to enter Tanzania for a visit to 90 days per year, while those intending to spend more than 90 days in the country will be required to apply for a resident permit or others in line with laid-down immigration regulations.
