Speaking at the Kerala Tourism roadshow in New Delhi, Nandakumar K. P., Deputy Director, Kerala Tourism, said that they are aiming for about 10 per cent growth of arrivals in Kerala in 2016.

He further added that despite the industry expecting a slump in 2015-16, Kerala has not felt it. Kerala Tourism showcased its tourism products with over 60 exhibitors and 200 plus buyers in New Delhi. “National Capital is very important for us, and we have a huge market share from Delhi, and hence we do this roadshow every year,” he said.

Revealing the arrival figures, he said “In 2014, we achieved 7.6 per cent and 7.7 per cent of international and domestic tourists respectively.

However, in 2015, we only have figures from January to October, and we have achieved 6.6 per cent of international arrivals and 7.6 per cent of domestic arrivals in this period.”
