The 31st annual conference of the Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) is scheduled to be held from August 20 to 23 in the vibrant industrial town of Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

Subhash Goyal, IATO President said that the city has been chosen since it will be convenient for delegates to reach, see the city and its attractions and facilities.

Goyal further added that he expects all operators to support the Prime Minster in efforts to promote tourism. The theme of the convention will be ‘Tourism – We will change the Indian economy.’

This is only the second time that an IATO convention attended by over 1,000 delegates is being held in Madhya Pradesh. Previously it took place in Khajuraho.

Convention Chairman Pronab Sarkar of Swagatam Tours, who is also the Secretary of IATO, said that interesting and relevant business sessions have been planned, which will focus on incentives, human resource development, and airline, hotel, and agent links as well as showcasing the many attractions of the state.

Central Tourism Minister, Mahesh Sharma, and MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan will be present at the convention.

The host state is expected to present its attractions through a cultural programme and post-convention tours for the delegates.
